This is an antique dress from the 1920s, possibly earlier.
This dress has a straight dropped waist silhouette and super interesting construction
Two part sleeves, the upper part is beautiufully beaded in small jet beads and some pink rocaille beads.
There is a panel of the same beading hanging from each side of the hip area, these are attached at the hips and free to swing as you move.
The front panel snaps just over the left shoulder and at the cummerbund.
Underneath the front panel is an under shirt that fastens with hooks and eyes.
CONDITION: please read.
Fabric deterioration - especially under the beading on one of the hip panels. I think this could be stablized with some black lightweight interfacing applied very carefully to the back. I did not dare to attempt.
Piping on one sleeve has some minor damage
The black has faded on the front panel so it looks a little red
Perspiration stains visible
Pinholes through out the skirt, easily camoflaged with a black slip.
This delicate dress is for someone who knows what they're doing and can restore it. Or you can buy it to display. You could wear it as well. It looks perfectly lovely until you start inspecting carefully. PLease don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you might have.
